Autumn 2010 E-News Update

Taumarunui is a small town close to the centre of the North Island. It is famous for being "on the main trunk line" - the Auckland to Wellington rail track runs parallel to the main street. A lot of north to south and east to west road traffic passes through the town as does the Whanganui River. Many people pass through the town. Pastors Bob and Lynette Sinclair have been seeking under God to develop a ministry where people will tarry on their journey. In going to Taumarunui my feeling is that we are taking our part and helping to dig deeper the well that is there, praying that God will fill it with sweet and life giving water.

The freedom people received at the Taumarunui retreat will help to build the Kingdom of God in that community and help to bring others to freedom.

As we make our journey toward freedom we are able to offer God a life that is set apart for Him. As God releases His Spirit into our lives He places in us His character and His passion - facets that will make people around us see, and hopefully experience, God in us!

Marie and Warren Hokke

Summer 2010 E-News

Dear friends,

Happy New Year. Marie and I hope you have had a time of rest and relaxation over the Christmas season and have had a chance to catch up with yourselves, your family and friends. We spent Christmas at Kairakau Beach in Central Hawkes Bay celebrating my mother's 80th birthday. It was a good family time!
We pray that 2010 will be a year of positive change for you! It has already been a year of change for us as we have changed job and changed house for me to take up the Director's role at Cleansing Stream Ministries. Duane has finished up after a great contribution over 10 years. We have re-located the office from north of the Auckland harbour bridge, to the east of Auckland at Bucklands Beach. So please take note of the new contact details below.
The call I have is to continue the good work of Cleansing Stream in bringing people to a freedom for their journey. My motivation is to see people set free from any bondages and attachments that have held them back from achieving the purposes that God has for them. Whether it is a "freedom from" or a "freedom to" I love seeing that smile that comes to people's faces when they realise for the first time that something just shifted!

Thanks Duane!
Duane has been at the forefront of the Cleansing Stream ministry since it was launched here in 1999. He and Jenny have made a huge contribution to the ministry in many ways. I praise God for what has been established through their faithful work. They have now followed a call of God to establish a new ministry among the poor in the Philippines. Operating under the name Hands of Hope Ministries, Duane, Jenny and Joseph invite you to visit their website www.handsofhope.org.nz to see what they plan to do.

How Can You Help?

Please pray for Duane, Jenny and Joseph as they settle in to a new climate and culture and for Cleansing Stream Ministries as I get established in the role and for the 2010 retreats - that we will get good numbers of participants, that the venue planning will go well and that freedom will prevail!

A word from the Word.
I still read two chapters of the Bible each day as I was encouraged to when I first attended Cleansing Stream. I continue to be amazed at how two random chapters so often speak into each other. In Numbers 20:8 God says to Moses "Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water". In Matthew 8:16 it says "Jesus cast out the spirits with a word". Those two sentences challenge me - the spoken word of God has a powerful effect. Just imagine if that became the efficiency and effectiveness of our ministry, how that would transform lives and bring freedom to many. We have the authority to make declarations into people's lives and to lead them in making their own Godly declarations.

I look forward to meeting you over this year. I appreciate your contribution to the Ministry. Freedom for your journey!

Director

November 2009 Announcement eNews

Dear friends,

Well, Christmas is just about upon us. It has been a wonderful and fruitful year. 2010 promises to be a year of change as Warren Hokke takes the helm of Cleansing Stream.

New Season
Over the last 2-3 years Jenny and myself have really felt a strong call to missions. Two years ago I visited Panama with Pastor Luis Cabral and had an amazing time. Earlier this year, as a family, we visited the Philippines. During and after this trip God began to speak to us and we feel to return to the Philippines in a full time capacity in February 2010.

It's a dream come true for our son Joseph. Two years ago (aged 5 at the time) he wanted to sell our house and move to the Philippines to help the street kids. It’s amazing how God speaks through children.

We have established and registered a charitable trust called Hands of Hope Ministries. Please visit our website, www.handsofhope.org.nz to find out what we aim to do. Coinciding with our new adventure I have resigned from the director role at Cleansing Stream which will take effect during January 2010.

New Cleansing Stream Director
The board of Cleansing Stream Ministries NZ is delighted to announce that Warren Hokke will be taking on the directorship role for the ministry. Warren carries a passion for the ministry, is well qualified and most importantly feels strongly called by God to take on this new challenge.

Warren Hokke has been married to Marie for thirty years. They have four adult children and are expecting their third grandson this month. Warren and Marie have lived in Lower Hutt; Honiara, Solomon Islands; Manukau and Botany Downs. As a chartered accountant, Warren has invested more than half of his working life in the Christian Not for Profit sector and is currently Business Manager for Elim Christian Centre in Auckland. They have been involved with Cleansing Stream since 2007.

Warren and myself will be working closely together to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. This is an exciting time and I am extremely confident these changes are a significant development for Cleansing Stream Ministries growth and development in New Zealand.

As I look back over the 9 years there are many fond memories. Apart from seeing 1000s of people finding freedom for their journey, the highlight would have to be working along side many of you at Retreats. Your commitment toward this ministry is truly exceptional and I count it a real privilege getting to know you and working with you.

Have a Wonderful Christmas and make sure you enjoy the season.
